One more outdoor mural as the snowflakes begin to fly!

I just wrapped up a #mural for #Red&TheWolf in downtown #Clawson, just as the snowflakes started to fly! I'm so glad this tasty restaurant reached out :-) I'm thrilled to be part of their vision, their attention to detail in creating an atmosphere and dining experience like no other.

Familiar with the tale, "Little Red Riding Hood,"? This is it! Granny's house included (the wait area). And the food? I told my husband when we were there on a date, it was like a hug for my tummy ❤️ Delicious, comforting, delectable.... shall I go on?

Chef Aaron and a vision for what he wanted in the mural, but gave me the freedom to play off that idea and make a few changes :-). There's a reason why the wolf is so large, exaggerated. "What BIG eyes you have ..." And notice how Red Riding Hood extends past the confinements of the frame, a nod to the Chef and his culinary vision and creativity.

Warm-up Workout!

Why am I spending 30 minutes or less to sketch my dog?

a.) By selecting a subject I am familiar with, I am challenged by the different perspectives and positions my doggo chooses.

b.) My dog is restless. She fidgets in her sleep, she stretches, and doesn't stay in the same position for long periods of time like a photograph where the image is frozen in time. This forces me to move quickly and not hyper focused on minor details. It helps me work on speed.

Did you know??

Are you familiar with my work? The murals, the large scale community public art installations, to the pet portraits and picture book illustrations?

If not, then I invite you to hop over to my other page:

Or not. I thank you for stopping by. Here's a quick warmup I did this morning before heading into the studio.

Have a great day!

Warm-up during my off season ;-)

 BIG goals this year!

Normally I get back into stretching and yoga this time of year to get ready for mural season. This year I'm adding another kind of work out:

Warm-up sketches to sharpen my hand eye coordination for when I'm installing a mural.

Being a Detroit Lions fan, I have decided to tackle the challenge of sketching portraits of the team.

So here we go:
